Drive from your hotel to Londorossi Gate for registration, then proceed to Lemosho trailhead. Begin your trek through the lush rainforest where you may spot colobus monkeys and exotic bird species before arriving at Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree Camp) for your first night under the stars.

Leave the dense rainforest behind and ascend steadily across the moorland zone. Cross the rolling heather ridges before reaching the spectacular Shira Plateau, offering your first sweeping views of Kibo's glacial peak across the wilderness.

Trek eastward across the alpine desert plateau toward the massive rock formation of Lava Tower. After enjoying lunch at higher altitude for acclimatisation, descend slightly to set up camp at Shira 2 beneath the shadows of Kibo.

Climb up to the striking Lava Tower (4,600m) for crucial acclimatisation before descending down into the breathtaking Barranco Valley. Surrounded by towering cliffs and giant groundsels (Senecios), Barranco is widely considered the most scenic campsite on the mountain.

Conquer the famous Barranco Wall (often called the Breakfast Wall) with a fun, scrambling climb to the top. Continue across rolling ridges and valleys before arriving at Karanga Camp for lunch and an afternoon of rest ahead of the summit push.

Trek out of the alpine desert, ascending steadily to Barafu Hut, your high-altitude base camp perched on a desolate ridge. Spend the afternoon resting, organizing your summit gear, and dining early before a midnight summit attempt.

Begin your summit push around midnight under the starlight, zig-zagging up scree slopes to Stella Point on the crater rim. Continue along the rim to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa, just in time for a breathtaking sunrise. Afterward, descend past Barafu all the way down to Mweka Camp for a well-earned celebration.
