About This Safari

Lemosho starts in lush, fertile rainforest. It is the first ecological zone you encounter on Kilimanjaro (we will trek through four). The route heads up and across the Shira Plateau, which used to be Kilimanjaro’s third peak before it collapsed. Then, we make our way north to Moir Hut, which serves as a great acclimatization day due to short hikes than can be done in the nearby Lent Hills. So 2 Days hiking will give you enough experiences for hiking in Kilimanjaro.

Arusha/ Moshi - Mt Kilimanjaro

Today you will be pick up from Arusha/ Kilimanjaro airport and drive to Londorossi gate leave camp and make your way out of the forest. You will take a steep track into a savanna of tall grasses, heather (ornamental plant), and volcanic rock draped with lichen beards (tree moss). Ascend through the lush rolling hills below the Shiru Plateau, finally reaching camp at the edge of the plateau where you can see a view of Kibo Peak.

Activities

Morning: Pick-up from Arusha/Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer to Londorossi Gate. Late Morning: Registration at the gate and preparation for the trek. Afternoon: Begin hiking through the lush rainforest and explore the beautiful vegetation. Afternoon: Ascend through tall grasses, heather plants, and volcanic rock formations. Late Afternoon: Continue hiking through the rolling hills toward the Shira Plateau. Evening: Arrive at camp, relax, and enjoy views of Kibo Peak if the weather permits. Night: Dinner, briefing for the next day, and overnight at camp.
