This 2-day private safari is perfect for travelers looking to experience Tanzania’s wildlife in a short time. Fly from Zanzibar to mainland Tanzania and explore two of the country’s most famous parks: Tarangire National Park, known for its massive elephant herds and iconic baobab trees, and Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, teeming with wildlife.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Zanzibar → Tarangire National Park

Start early with a flight from Zanzibar to Arusha, where your private safari guide will meet you. After a short briefing, drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its scenic landscapes dotted with giant baobab trees and large elephant herds.

Spend the day on game drives, spotting lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, and the many bird species along the Tarangire River. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park while watching wildlife roam nearby.

In the late afternoon, drive to Mto wa Mbu town for dinner and overnight at Jua Manyara Lodge, both comfortable and budget-friendly lodges surrounded by nature.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater → Zanzibar

After an early breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, often called the Eighth Wonder of the World.

Explore the crater floor, home to the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino—along with hippos, wildebeest, and countless flamingos at Lake Magadi. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater before driving back to Arusha in the afternoon to catch your return flight to Zanzibar, arriving in the evening.
